The University Heights Community Association has submitted its 2nd comment letter (see below) in respect of the Stadium Shopping Centre Development Permit Application to the city. The letter is a compilation of comments submitted on February 21, 2016 and comments developed as a result of further communication with our community residents, including the open house of February 23, 2016. The redevelopment of Stadium Shopping Centre has many advantages to our community, nevertheless, a development of this magnitude on a site designated as a Neighbourhood Activity Centre necessarily comes will come with challenges. We hope that this letter is instructive to the City in assessing those consequences that are important to our community residents. Because of the complex nature of the redevelopment, the impacts are necessarily numerous and our comments extensive.
It is important that the City hear from individual residents, and we encourage residents to communicate directly with Mr. MacDonald at the City of Calgary whether they are in support of the perspective outlined in the comment letter or not. The best letters would support our submission (or not), then comment on one or two issues of most import to the resident. The shorter and more to the point the letter is, the easier it is for the City to deal with it. Above all, the most effective letters are polite, respectful and professional.
