From the City of Calgary:
Update you on the 16 Avenue & 29 Street N.W. intersection project for the construction activities during the upcoming long weekend.
The crews will be completing the last portion of paving on 29 Street on Saturday August 4 using mobile lane closures starting at 5am and completing before 7pm. We will also be coordinating to have a police office on duty to assist with directing traffic.
To reduce re-work, this portion of paving was originally held off in coordination with PCL of the Cancer Center Project where they needed to complete a water line tie-in. As their updated design/approval and installation schedule is not anticipated to be finishing until October, TI in discussion with Roads has decided to proceed with this work as the current asphalt surface is becoming a maintenance and safety risk. As well, the cold weather in October would become a risk to completing the asphalt paving and final line painting.
