Everyone loves to move, and movement is especially important as we get older. This gentle dance class is based in rhythm and movement that will challenge your brain and body. Classes are structured so that all participants can follow no matter your previous experience or age.
The UHCA Dance & Movement program incorporates ideas from Contemporary, Jazz, and Brain-Dance, that are modified for all levels of ability and age. The class starts with seated exercises to warm up the whole body, then moves into standing work with or without the chair. Rhythmic sequences and combinations that stimulate balance, coordination, range of motion, fine and complex motor skills will be taught. In addition, these skills help strengthen memory, encourage personal expression, and activate the musical and reward centres of the brain. Come join us!

Skating Rink
November-March
(opening and closing dates are weather dependent)
Thanks to the City of Calgary Adopt a Rink program and community member Phil, our community has a skating rink again! The Adopt a Rink program provides all the materials to build the rink including boards, liner & water and the community provides the volunteers to build, maintain and oversee it during the winter. Each year the community hosts a skating party, typically held in January.
Where Is It? Rink is located in the green space behind the alley that connects Utah Cres and Utah Place NW. See the map below
