City of Calgary Crowchild Trail Upgrades: Upcoming Noteworthy Road Closures

We would like to loop you in on some noteworthy road closures relating to the Crowchild Trail Upgrades Project.

Beginning this Friday, our crews will be proceeding with another concrete pour critical to the project schedule.

The impact to drivers over the next few days will be as follows:

Evening closures:

Friday, July 27 (9 p.m.) – Saturday, July 28 (9 a.m.):
Double lane closure on both northbound and southbound Crowchild Trail (between Bow Trail and Memorial Drive).
· The eastbound Memorial Drive to southbound Crowchild Trail ramp will be closed.

Saturday, July 28 – Tuesday, July 31 (Nightly from 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.):
Full closure of eastbound Memorial Drive/Parkdale Blvd. N.W. (from Kensington Road N.W. to Crowchild Trail N.W.); traffic will be detoured at the intersection of Memorial Drive/Kensington Road to get drivers to Crowchild Trail.
The southbound Crowchild Trail to eastbound Memorial Drive ramp will be closed.

Daytime closures:

Saturday, July 28 (9 a.m.) – Tuesday, July 31 (5 a.m.):
· Single lane closure on both northbound and southbound Crowchild Trail (between Bow Trail and Memorial Drive).

Please note that we will have lane closures on Crowchild Trail during both the Monday morning and evening commutes.

We will be messaging this information out online, via road signs, Twitter, and our regular e-newsletter.

We did similar closures at the beginning of this month and I am pleased to report that we did not receive any 311 complaints or negative media attention as a result.

As construction continues, I will continue to keep you in the loop. In the meantime, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.
